What is Dharma?
Dharma can be defined in a number of ways: Cosmic order, the teachings of Buddha, phenomena, righteous living.
For my purposes here, I am using it to mean life's purpose - what we're here to be and do.
One of the things I love about Yoga philosophy is that there's a place and a path for everyone based on our natural inclinations. We don't have to contort ourselves into someone else's idea of spiritual life. Our spiritual lives flow from us naturally. We may be loving, action-oriented, thinkers, there's room for all of us!
Nothing is higher than Dharma. The weak overcomes the stronger by Dharma, as over a king. Truly that Dharma is the Truth (Satya); Therefore, when a man speaks the Truth, they say, "He speaks the Dharma"; and if he speaks Dharma, they say, "He speaks the Truth!" For both are one.
— Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, 1.4.xiv [43][44]
